Mes/Nec or Mes/Mo?
I'm really having a hard time deciding between the two (though I haven't totally ruled out Nec/Mes). And would like some advice from those who have played the combos.
I'm making a secondary character that I plan on taking through PVE again to learn it properly. But in the end it will be used for pvp with my guild. I'm trying to find a good support class (we have a lot of monks in the guild). I'd like to create something good at stopping other classes like casters, etc, and debuffs. I'm just not suire which would be the better supporting class for this, Nec or Monk. Thanks. |

I have a Me/Mo. I like the character, but getting armor made for the Mes is really expensive (at least more expensive than my other classed characters). I've built this character to be a healer. But she's pretty good at taking down casters.
I haven't played a Necro. So, I'm not too sure on their skills. But from playing with Necros it seems they're really good at draining the life from enemies and I think that compliments the Mes quite nicely. For what it's worth I'm going to try a Me/N as my next character. I hope that little bit helps you. |

If you want to stop casters dead in their tracks......try mes/ran or ran/mes. They both have skills and abilities to keel off spell casters and interrupt their casting. If you are looking for which would be easier to get through pve with, then I would say the mes/nec is the way to go. Mes/ran is more diff to get through pvp, you really have to depend on the ranger side of it for your dmg and such.

Mirrasi -
I'm a huge fan of Me/N. Mainly because all three sides of the Necromancer skills are great in combination with the Mesmer. Also, a large number of skills from those two classes ignore armor. If you need to get through PvE you will have the option to use Death/Curse magic. Many people say that those are more effective for PvE, although I stay with Blood magic and do great. For PvP you have any number of options. All three sides of the coin are awesome for PvP if played the right way. |

Yup N and Me can be used together quite nicely for example:
Weaken + Chaos Storm / Empathy / Backfire Spirit Tap can be used to fuel your abilities or to give you the power you need to let off that vital heal / life leech. I've heard a lot of Nec bashing on these boards but I'm perfectly happy so far. The only thing i would say is that for PvP fast casting is probably better than Soul Reaping |
